documenting the best parts of you...
I only charge travel fees for locations 50 miles one way outside of my studio in Nashville, MI. Outside of the 50 miles, it's 57 cents per mile for travel.
Yes. It's like a down payment on a house. It's a good faith payment for me to hold your date and solidify the contract, but it does come out of the total package price.
I do have some locations that I shoot at frequently just because they're popular local places. But I highly encourage my clients to pick their own locations. This ensures that the scenery is exactly what you're envisioning to get out of your session. I have photographed so many places that I never would have known about because my clients picked a spot they loved! I can find beautiful spots at any location. But keep in mind that getting permission to shoot there and paying any fees is your responsibility.
I typically try to schedule sessions 1.5-2 hours before sunset. That's right before "golden hour" kicks in which adds some really fantastic light to photos and is very flattering. First thing in the morning is also great.
I always encourage my clients to bring one extra outfit to allow some variety in their gallery. Seniors are allowed 2 extra outfits.
Yes. I've photographed horses, dogs, and cats with my clients before. I have no objections to bringing your own animals to get photos too. :)
I deliver at least 45 photos per session.
I deliver a digital gallery through Pixieset. All the photos are downloadable. You can send the link and download info to anyone you like, and all galleries are password protected. You can also order prints through your gallery. I will supply a USB with all the photos for any client that doesn't have access to high speed unlimited internet, if requested. Sessions are normally 1 GB.
Yes. There is a print release clause in the contract. If you print your contract and take it with you, you can show the employee that section. However, my print prices are comparable to local consumer labs (walgreens, walmart, costco). But they're printed with professional paper and inks and color managed. I don't guarantee how an image looks printed at one of those places. Their photos can be muddy or have color casts, and that's how they're able to keep their prices so cheap. I highly recommend you not get your wedding photos printed there. If you'd like some recommendations for the best online consumer labs, feel free to ask me and I'll provide some. ;)
I'll send a contract and invoice for the session retainer. Both must be filled out and paid before the session is scheduled and date held.
How the day of the session goes will depend on what kind of shoot you book, but we will have fun no matter what!
You'll get a sneak peek the business day after.
The blog post and slideshow will showcase the best photos from your session and sneak a few more to you before the release of your final gallery. :)
Your gallery link will be sent to you by email with a password and download info. You can send the gallery and downloads to anyone you like! You can also order prints from there.
This ends our experience together, but I hope it won't be the last time!
